I've had a really wonderful birthday weekend. It's made me quite happy (: I have the best family and friends in the world! So yes ...

Today was "girls day"! Trisha, Erica, Cassandra and I went out to The Shoppes at Farmington Valley. I bought way more than I had expected to, but I got some really cool sunglasses and a really nice necklace (photos below). Yesterday we went blueberry picking. It was a lot more fun than I had thought it would be. It was so humid though, so we cut it out of there after a couple of hours...but it was still fun.

Afterward, we stopped in at Sugarbelle and got some cupcakes for us and Trisha's folks. They were so damn delicious. Best damn cupcake I have ever tasted in my ( Read more... )

Annnnnd, we're home. It was a nice day and a half away. Before we left Tuesday, I met Trisha at Starbucks and we had a great time hanging out and chatting/laughing for two hours. There were these tiny birds (finches?) hoping around all over the place and one finally stopped long enough for me to snap a couple of photos (pictured below).

Had a pretty wonderful day. The weather was absolutely amazing ... it was downright perfect. I spent much of it outdoors, hanging out with the parents and reading. I had planned to go see the fireworks, but then my father lit the fire pit out back (first time we'd used it), and it was just too comforting.

My brother competed a few weeks ago in Tough Mudder, up in Vermont. I went along for support, and try to get some decent photos of the event. I wish we, as spectators, had more access to all of the obstacles, but as it was ... It was TOUGH for me, I can't even imagine my brother who was the participant.
